Welcome!! :3
Frankenstein is a science fiction horror novel originally published anonymously by Mary Shelley in 1818, later edited and republished by her in 1831. It follows a young man creating life from scratch by stitching corpse parts together... And the aftermath of him abandoning said creation. It's one of the first science fiction horror novels ever published.
Why am I obsessed with it?
In a nutshell, I am as clueless about that as you.
It's primarily because of the analysis aspect. For something that came out several decades before Sigmund Freud was even born, it has a surprising amount of psychoanalytic theory and cycles of abuse in its themes. People talk about morally gray characters nowadays, but never bring up Frankenstein or any Gothic literature characters, which is strange because Frankenstein doesn't have a 100% "morally good" character and Gothic literature (and the Romantic Movement) regularly wrote complex depictions of the human mind.
